Pixel Photography feat. The 7th Saga

Welcome back to another Pixel Photography exhibit! Our subject this time is the Produce and Enix turn-based RPG, The 7th Saga. This was an excruciating adventure on my journey through playing every Super Nintendo RPG, but it had to be done. It was my first time playing it and, aside from the steep difficulty and grindiness, I was most impacted and impressed by its music and approach to storytelling, its rivalry mechanics, and its animations.

It also has an interesting color palette of greens and earthen colors with very stark blues and reds dialed up to max saturation. Now that I’ve played it, I feel like I could recognize its graphics at a glance. Maybe you can, too. Here, all of that has been captured via CRT photography, real hardware playing on real hardware.
