SEGA Genesis Mini 2’s Full List of 60 Games
3 min readThe tease is over. SEGA has officially revealed the full list of games for the SEGA Genesis Mini 2. With 60 titles total, it’s an impressive library coming in at $99.99 plus shipping exclusively through Amazon. Nostalgia is an entire economy these days and the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 looks like it’s packing some real heat for those that grew up with these systems.

Including Sega CD games seems to be a real draw. While SEGA is in the business of handing out ports of Genesis games like candy, there are a number of games on their other systems that never see the light of day. If you’re a collector, you likely already own or have access to a number of these Genesis games, but the Sega CD titles are another matter.
For the record, the first SEGA Genesis Mini came with 42 games at a retail price of $79.99. Many of its games are seeing their sequels released on this second mini. With preorders up and a healthy buzz in the community, it seems like the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 should perform better in terms of initial sales than Sony’s PlayStation Classic which debuted at the same price.
It’s also worth noting that the North American library for the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 is missing some titles included in the Japanese version, such as Lunar. Sure, the modding scene is alive and well for these miniature systems, which brings us back to emulation as an alternative anyway.
Thanks to a stupidly overpriced and artificially inflated retro market, a lot of the games featured on the NA and JP Mini 2s may be debilitatingly expensive to collect individually. Price Charting has Lunar above $100 loose and a complete Crusader of Centy will set you back over a grand. Are these games really worth that much? Is purchasing and owning them physically actually that valuable? Can you really treat video games like the housing market or antique cars?
Those questions are up to each individual consumer to answer but, for many, the more affordable route may be getting all these games in one place, even as part of the gimmicky mini craze. That says a lot about the state of retro when $100 plus shipping is affordable… Bow, mortals, before the awesome power of eBay!
Still, the market will likely treat the SEGA Genesis Mini just as typically, so if you want it, you’d better get it now. SEGA will evidently produce fewer units than they did for the first mini. They didn’t even pay me to say that.

Oooooh this sounds very interesting! I’ve been trying to get my hands on the Mega CD since I was literally about 11, so having a chunk of its best games in one place along with a ton a MD games sounds alluring!
The CD games make this an interesting purchase, imo, since there are already many other ways to get ahold of Genesis/MD games. It’s a shame not all the CD games are included that made it to the Japanese version of this mini, but it’s still a sizable chunk.
