“What’s the best Dreamcast soundtrack?”

Welcome back to Soundtrack Showdown! Before we get into the Dreamcast, we’ve got to announce the winner, beg pardon, winners of last week’s event. That’s right. It’s a tie! Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time each received 23.26% of the votes. I didn’t anticipate that we’d get a tie but there it is for the Nintendo 64 round. I’ll figure out how to handle this once we approach our final week where all of the winners of the previous nineteen weeks will face off against each other in a final event.

You can visit the main event page here for more information but in short, we’re looking for nominations from you today and tomorrow (Monday and Tuesday) for the best Dreamcast soundtrack, Sega’s last stand. Make it count since this is Sega’s final spot in our Showdown series! All nominations received will appear in a poll open from Wednesday through Saturday when you’ll be able to vote for the best Dreamcast soundtrack. We’ll determine the winner on Sunday!

-Nominations can be left in comments on this blog or on Twitter, just tag @thewellredmage and/or use #soundtrackshowdown.

-Please keep it to ONE nomination per person but if your first choice is already taken then feel free to nominate a different soundtrack.

-If you name more than one soundtrack, I’ll have to ruin your day and ask you to choose! 

-We’re looking for exclusives, not ports, within reason. Timed exclusives are ok to mention provided they were originally on the Dreamcast.

I know there’s more than enough Sega Dreamcast fans out there to nominate some solid DC music, well, the Dreamcast fans who haven’t blocked me yet for the Sega jokes. In all seriousness, I too have a Dreamcast and I love it. It’s got some stellar games on it. Let’s send off Sega with a bang with Soundtrack Showdown and nom all the bangin’ VGM OSTs!
