DuckTales: Remastered (2013) [PS3]
2 min read
Capitalist miser gets rich stealing from minority cultures in tale coincidentally created by Disney. Capcom published, so the Western animation giant remembered to outsource DuckTales work to Japan. Cashing in on Scrooge has never seen better ROI. The cast from the beloved series (not the dumb reboot) returns. Rest in peace, Alan Young! A lively cartoon veneer preserves the tightness and trial of an NES game, with light Metroidvania styling. Players can even switch between Wayforward’s newly remastered soundtrack or the 8-bit OG.
Although gamers now have collections big enough to dive into like giant money bins, wealth is measured by the richness of our experiences, proving many of us have been a McDuck since childhood. Life is like a hurricane, but DuckTales exists so really it’s not all bad.
When was the last time you revisited the series? It’s on Disney+ and it is still one of the best 1980s animes.
