Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (2024) [PS5] critique
2 min readThe girl with the pagan tattoo of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia battles her amnesia in this remastered title for the all-new Dominus Collection, bringing together three games under its roof. With levels less interconnected than others of its dark breed, this DS spawn is much more -vania than Metroid, emphasizing its central RPG elements: the accumulation of stats, gathering experience points, and grinding character progression. Like the evil Lord Dracula himself, it may overstay its welcome with some of its needier villager side quests, but this is a (vampire) killer entry in the beloved Castlevania franchise that Konami can stake its claim on anew. Does that stand to reason that we shall see a Castlevania resurrection in the near future? I wouldn’t Count on it, children of the night.
