Welcome back to the Pixel Awards! We have now entered the second stage of our week-long event and I’m happy to report that The Pixels received all of your nominations. What a set of nominations! I’m proud of the diversity of this community expressed through these 22 titles. Each is eligible to win our Game of the Year award and they are quite a collection.
Everything from the cinematic to the saccharine, 2D and 3D, AAA and indie and everything in between, the nostalgic and the cutting edge, RPGs, adventure games, beat ’em ups, strategy, tactics, action, and more are represented here. This is a list that, I believe, reflects the wider industry at large and the kinds of tastes many of us possess. Good luck to each of our nominees and thank you to our nominators!
Before we get to voting, let me quickly remind you how this will play out…
EVENT STRUCTURE
This is how our week-long, three-part event will work:
- Nominations: Monday and Tuesday – nominees are gathered from the community for upcoming voting! Noms are now closed!
- Voting: Wednesday thru Friday – the gaming community will have three days to vote for one of the nominees as GOTY!
- Announcing the Winner: Saturday – the results of the vote will be tallied and a winner announced!
It’s now Wednesday and voting will remain open all the way through until the wee hours of Saturday morning. Plenty of time to get your vote in below (and to wave your flag for your favorite game). Here are our nominees and the creators who brought them to life.
