“The Pixel Awards: Game of the Year 2022 – Nominations”
2 min readWelcome to the Pixel Awards! Now that 2022 is safely over and all video games have been released for that bygone year, we here at The Pixels are proud to present our 3-part Game of the Year 2022 event! Today, the first part begins.
We are now accepting nominations. From who? From you? That’s right. At this event, your vote, your input, your voice, your taste actually matters! There are no investors, no journos, no inside pressure, just fans who played the games. There are no gods or kings here, only Man.
EVENT STRUCTURE
This is how our week-long, three-part event will work:
- Nominations: Monday and Tuesday – nominees are gathered from the community for upcoming voting!
- Voting: Wednesday thru Friday – the gaming community will have three days to vote for one of the nominees as GOTY!
- Announcing the Winner: Saturday – the results of the vote will be tallied and a winner announced!
HOW TO NOMINATE
You can nominate any video game released in the year 2022. Here’s how:
- Leave a comment with the full title of your nominee in the comments section of this post.
- Drop a message with the full title of your nominee in our Discord #goty2022 channel.
- Send a direct message with the full title of your nominee to @thepixelsdotcom on Twitter.
The winner will have its name carved into the coveted Golden Pixel and live on in the hearts and minds of us all.

I was honestly very impressed with Stray. The eclectic world building and optional flavor bits players could choose to engage with to learn more about eh characters and the world, and the way the ending could tug at you so hard without a protagonist that could effectively speak an understandable word for themselves… Honestly very impressive storytelling all around.
