I could spend this article talking about my personal history with Choose Your Own Adventure stories and how that led to an inevitable love in Yoshi’s Story, one of the first games I played where my actions determined how the story went. I could talk about the cyclical nature of the game and how it encouraged me to keep going until I was done, even if it meant going back to the start. I could talk about the relief that there was no more screaming baby after Yoshi’s Island. I could talk about Poochy. I could talk a lot about Poochy. But honestly, there’s only one thing that needs to be said about Yoshi’s Story.
And that’s how you’re all going to hate me for making you think of that music all over again.
