Super Mario Run is a Mobile Mario Game. It plays exactly like the New Super Mario Bros Games but an autocrosser.
As you can see in the image, there are blocks that stop you in your tracks instead of you being able to completely control the character.
Yoshi is playable, a little feature that hasn’t happened in a mainline Mario game in a bit! More than 1 Yoshi, there are 5 different colored Yoshis. Instead of Mario being an able ride on his back, he’s playable. Basically a soul for a soul as Thanos says.
Other new characters we’re Peach, Daisy, Toadette and Red Toad. The other two are just Mario and Luigi. Anyway, on to the game.
All the modes are:
World Tour & Toad Rally & Kingdom Builder & Remix 10
World Tour has a total of 24 levels with different types of levels.These are similar to the New Super Mario games and are the part of the game that’s behind the paywall. If you’re able to collect all stars for all levels then you can get 4 secret levels. If you get all the first stars for all stages you can get one and if you get 2 you get another. The last 4th one was added recently and is kinda just an extra level for betting the whole game unlike the other 3.
One of the main things I like about this game is that they have a ton of different enemies and one of the cooler things about that is you’re able to level up them. This has never been in a Mario game before and it’s a really cool concept that could be used more.
Toad Rally is something I liked to play less than the other games even though it’s still a bit fun.
You play against other players (you can play with your friends too.) There are 5 different types of Toads that you collect are Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple.
Now onto the actual game. You collect the toads by playing against the other players and getting more coins and getting to the checkpoint flag. These levels are endless and go on and on. When the time runs out that’s when it ends.
When you collect the toads, it lets you collect all the different things that you can add to your Kingdom Builder.
You’re able to update your castle too and add all different items.
There are also a ton of events.
They add new items sometimes too. One time they added some Mario Odyssey statues for example.
The last mode they have was added was Remix 10 and the latest!
It’s 10-bit size levels for each in a row. If you’re able to do them all correctly then you get more toads, if you don’t then you get less. It randomly picks a character unlike all the other modes.
When you get to a certain point you’re able to get Daisy.
