Philosophiraga: Episode Five – Pokémon and Justified True Belief
3 min read“As we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don’t know we don’t know.”
– Donald Rumsfeld
Philosophiraga’s back for its second module!
Apologies to anyone who was, like, super stoked for the advertised interview with The Well-Red Mage himself; unfortunately, we happen to live on different continents. As it turns out, that can present something of a scheduling challenge. Still, we were determined that the show must go on, so here we are with an episode all about knowledge.
What is knowledge? What do we know? How do we know we know it? Can we ever really know if we don’t know that we know that we don’t know about knowing?
The answers to… none of these questions will be revealed in Philosophiraga. But, hey, we’ll at least have an interesting discussion about epistemology with the help of our favourite shorts-wearing Pokémon trainer, Youngster Ben.
Listen to the episode RIGHT HERE:
You can also get Philosophiraga in a bunch of places (see the logos just a little bit down the page): Spotify, Stitcher, Podchaser, Apple… and I hear you can even get Alexa to play it for you now. So that’s cool. If you haven’t yet listened to the previous episodes, why not? You’ve got so many options!
You can keep the show going – because it really, truly, honestly couldn’t exist without you – by getting more ears on it: tell one friend about the show, let me know, and I’ll give you a shout-out. Leave ratings and reviews on Apple Podcasts or Podchaser or anywhere else ratings and reviews can be left.
Or, to properly be directly responsible for the continuing Philosophiragarising, become a patron and I’ll love you forever.
LISTEN TO PHILOSOPHIRAGA
Though he’s been known by many names across the vast and peculiar landscape of the Internet, every iteration of The Sometimes Vaguely Philosophical Mage has shared an urge to look far too closely at tiny details and extrapolate huge, important-seeming conclusions. He now hosts Philosophiraga, the video games and philosophy podcast, for The Well-Red Mage, and can be found rambling about it and his other creative endeavours on Twitter.

How did I only find these now! Anyway ended up following on Spotify… The title Kant Theft Auto… Had me alternately laughing then feeling offended on behalf of Kant’s legacy then laughing again.
Philosophiraga is really still brand new, so the good news is you only have a few episodes to catch up on! Thanks for listening! 🙂
I’m sure Kant would’ve approved hahaha
I reckon Kant would have really enjoyed Animal Crossing, for some reason.
Thank you so much for following the show!
This isn’t Jade Turquoise Blastoise version??
